Susan Fixsen has always been an overachiever. Growing up in a family where everyone had a graduate degree nurtured what has become a lifelong, relentless drive to pursue knowledge and excellence. Throughout five diverse careers, including a summer assisting the Seattle Seahawks as an athletic trainer, being a dedicated golfer who also made qualification for the Women’s LPGA Tournament, a California state educator, and serving as an administrator of several Bay Area schools, Susan has always broken records and challenged the status quo. In 2006, Susan took a step back from educational administration with the strong support of her husband and family to focus on her three children. Never one to stay idle, she got her real estate license the same year, but instead of joining a major brokerage, she flew solo under the auspices of a retired broker. After achieving a successful first year in real estate, Susan retired from her twenty-third year of education to become a full-time real estate agent in 2007, and obtained her Broker’s license in 2011. From that year onward, Susan has never looked back. She currently runs two Pacific Oak Real Estate Services offices located in San Benito and Santa Clara counties. Susan’s dedicated team of Realtors, the PORES Team, has made the company what it is, and it has had almost zero turnover over its eight years. This high-level team works as one unit, supporting each other and celebrating each other’s successes and accomplishments. Highly competitive and relentlessly focused, Susan has led Pacific Oak Real Estate Services to success through smart, analytical projections, and her team’s dedication to meeting clients’ needs quickly, efficiently, and compassionately. Susan’s ability to listen carefully and understand each client’s needs allows her to be successful during transaction negotiations. As a trained negotiator with a past specialization in gang activity and psychology, there is no situation too dicey and no real estate challenge too complex for Susan. Since 2015, her business has grown 300%. As the leader of 10 talented agents, she’s figured out the methods to teach others the importance of professionalism, a code of ethics, and knowing the contractual agreement—coming full circle from her 23-year career in education. When not working, you can find Susan on the golf course. A lifelong love of the sport inspired her to give back to her community through golf tournaments, which have raised money for the Parkinson’s Foundation, South County Association of Realtors® Education Foundation, the San Benito County Association of Realtors®, Relay for Life, Leukemia Research, and the Kelly Freitas Memorial Foundation. She also serves as chairman of Growing Hearts Garden Center, a nonprofit that creates jobs and educational opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Susan is deeply devoted to her family and loves spending time with her husband and children at their favorite place on earth, South Lake Tahoe.
